Mr. Lankford and Ms. Joyce were excellent and gracious hosts. They were very personable. The house is over 100 years old. They took their time to restore it (I had to ask about the history of the house). They make their own cookies and treats (which are available when you check in). The cookie came packaged in the Magnolia House logo and packaging. Downstairs is very open and large. There's a sitting room, dining room and a wedding chapel. They both can officiate a wedding. There's plenty of on-street parking. The neighborhood is safe and secure. The room we had was very spacious. It had its own television, bathroom and mini fridge. The guestroom was very clean. The bathroom as well. The breakfast part of it was the best. I overstuffed myself (usually don't do). Mr. Lankford and Ms. Joyce made scrambled eggs, homemade blueberry muffin (so soft), bacon, fruit cup,and you had a choice of tea or coffee. Also had breakfast with a couple who have stayed there previously. It was great having a conversation with the hosts and couple. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. You won't be disappointed.

I will always choose the Magnolia House Inn when I'm in the area. The best experience I have ever had at an Inn. Joyce is an amazing cook, loved those fresh blueberry muffins and your pound cake surprise at night was such a treat. We went there as guests and left there as forever friends. Can't say that about any hotel experience. Lankford and Joyce, you made our stay so special thank you.

This stunning property is so loved by its owners and it shows. Located in a perfect spot to explore downtown Hampton, this gorgeous Victorian has been detailed top to bottom. We stayed in the "writer's room" and my book loving heart was obsessed. My only tiny complaint about anything was the very squeaky bed frame. Anytime I rolled over I feared I would wake the whole inn, but the mattress was very comfortable! Lankford and Joyce were the most wonderful hosts, I can't speak to their hospitality enough. The breakfast was incredible and their company was even better. My husband and I are pretty introverted people so I had some apprehension about booking a traditional B&B but they were SO welcoming and inviting without being overbearing in the slightest. Balancing that is a tricky skill and they are made for it. We can't recommend this spot enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia House. The proprietors were absolutely charming. The property is located very conveniently. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Friends ask me what staying at a B&B is like. I always remind them that unlike a hotel that is designed particularly for a guest stay a B&B probably started life as a home that has been converted to unique apartments. There are always a few quirks with a B&B that make a 5 star stay different than a 5 star stay at a hotel. What we really enjoyed about our stay with The Magnolia House was the community atmosphere that the Inn Keepers create. The house was decorated for the season. Upon entering you feel you are visiting family. Additionally Joyce and Langferd provided an excellent breakfast each morning of our stay. Breakfast was served around a dining room table and we ate with the other guests. It was a true pleasure to have the opportunity to chat with the hosts and the other guests. It is the little things that really make the Magnolia House shine. Joyce educated us on the history of the area. Langferd provided us excellent local restaurant suggestions. There is a community pantry on the first floor and each night Joyce made sure there was a snack laid out for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to being able to visit again.

This was my second visit to Magnolia House, such a lovely, comfortable and relaxing historical home. Hosts, Joyce and Lankford have a wonderful, warm way of making their guests feel so welcome! I really enjoyed their company and conversation throughout my visit. And I felt extremely spoiled (and well fed) after experiencing their delicious breakfast each morning! I will definitely visit their inn again and recommend it for anyone visiting the Hampton area.

Cozy, comfortable, and quiet B and B. Breakfast served courteously by the innkeepers. Thee Ellington themed room has a very nice couples massage spa tub. This is a Historic Inn only minutes from everything in Hampton. We had a small event at the chapel to renew of vows for 40th anniversary. A great place to stay. Exceptional Innkeepers.

My wife Cathy and I stayed at the Magnolia House for a long weekend at the beginning of May in the suite named the Haven. The decor was period, comfortable, and relaxing. Our hosts Joyce and Lankford were very friendly and a pleasure to converse with. Breakfasts were incredible in the dining room. Security practices are good. When in Hampton we will always stay here. Walking in at anytime of day or night, felt like home away from home.
